Welsh Honours:

Taff Ely are proud to have as a former member, the 2010 Welsh Indoor Bowls Seniors Champion in the late Mr. Aldwyn David.

Aldwyn played in a number of our winter leagues, and was quite the character around the Stadium. Well done Champ, you will be missed.

On Monday 24 October 1916, our wonderful Stadium Manager             Mr Eddie Werrett officially retired from our Bowling Centre.

Eddie with David Evans, a long time friend.  Understandable Eddie was a little upset, the club and members wish him well in a long and happy retirement.

His favourite days for working were Monday and Wednesday morning.  Lorraine (our new Stadium Manager) phoned him to ask if he could come in and help her with a problem that she could not fix. Eddie was in like a shot. She is very cunning is Lorraine.

The presentation to Eddie was made by his long time friend Mr David Evans. As you can imagine, there were a few choice words, but we think he secretly enjoyed it. He was presented with a crystal glass keepsake, with our Bowling Centre badge and inscribed was the wording thanking him for his loyal 27 year service to our Centre. Eddie was also given the Life Membership he deserves. The final gift for Eddie was something that the Centre would always have to remind us of his service to our Bowling Club. There was a sign fitted above the bar, with the words

'Eddy Werrett's Bar'.

Eddie with friends and bar staff, under his new bar sign.
